Aane Hejje saree, also known as the Anekal saree, traces its roots to the Anekal region of Karnataka, where it was traditionally worn by local communities. The name itself carries cultural significance — “Aane Hejje” translates to elephant footsteps. Over time, the term evolved into Anekal, the name of the place it belongs to.
What makes this saree distinctive is its border design, where a segment subtly resembles an elephant’s head and its footprints — a quiet yet powerful tribute to strength, movement, and heritage.
