Collection: Hubli Saree - Revival Saree

Hubli sarees are traditional handwoven sarees that were once widely produced in regions like Gajendragad, Bagalkot, and Gadag in Karnataka. Known for their simplicity and elegance, these sarees were commonly worn by married rural women.

A distinctive feature of Hubli sarees is the “gadi dadi” border pattern, often adorned with floral motifs symbolizing beauty and grace. This border style has influenced other South Indian sarees such as Ilkal and Narayanpet.

The sarees typically have a kora (off-white) warp combined with a contrast-colored weft, creating a subtle shimmering “dhoop-chhaav” effect (a play of light and shade). They are usually finished with bright, contrasting borders, adding vibrancy to the overall look.

Overall, Hubli sarees are valued for their understated body, striking borders, and classic weaving technique.
